Life is ongoing
Under the hot heat waves for a few days, the summer is approaching near to the end. It is now luxurious to say something like time fly, because even my sleeping time has been cut into pieces since the baby was born. It is also unreal to do both at one time, i.e., balancing on research and baby’s duty. That’s say, the working hours have to be refrained to morning and afternoon time slots. The research shall be adjusted to pockets of time. Challenging, but I am finding ways out.
It was last week knowing my grandpa had passed away at the age of 86 on another side of the Pacific Ocean. My mom is sad for not being able to join his funeral due to her physically here. My latest memory from grandpa can be traced back from the year when I was getting ready to study aboard for a PhD in 2016. It was a big family reunion with grandpa and grandma sitting around the table. As one of his grandsons, I was showing off my full-scholarship offer and translated him how long that will take to accomplish a degree and the possible date coming back again. He was proud the family lineages had being enriched around the world and encouraged us to explore more about the world. I think I could become grandpa one day, it must be satisfied when seeing children pursuing their own life.
