Hope for the best, and time will tell
When it comes to the fall, wind is getting not quite gentle with summer wears. When it comes to fall foliage, the last dance in wind cannot hide their once vibrant color shape. When it comes to our life, we shall hope for the best, and time will tell. People get easily buried in their work and life, and then suddenly realized time has gone that fast. I got that piece of feeling often when made a phone call with old friends at weekends: Me (A) and an old friend (B)
A: Hi buddy, how is everything going. I have been in Halifax for one year. We shall have a get-together to enjoy the lobster here…
B: Sure, but the past week hasn’t been kind to me… I’m hoping to … but time will tell…
A: Don’t worry, pal. Life is also tough here in Halifax, especially when the baby has come to the world. With the help of my parents who taking care the baby at night. My wife and I are able to get some sleep to look after the baby and work in the daytime. I have been involving in two major projects so far with less free time than before. As you know, she gets angry easily after giving birth the baby complaining about the small room and poor job opportunities. So, I have to find ways out to balance the life and work, the family relationship. I was looking for a larger space to live but the rental market is crazy here due to the large immigrants this year. Hopefully, everything will be OK this year. I can get the PR cards near the year end so that I can move to a big house; hope the baby is easier to handle when he is growing bigger; hope the pandemic can be eased to lower the barrel to fly back to China. Anyway, life is getting tough though, I am also finding ways out.
B: Thanks, buddy. Hang in there on your end as well. If it helps, I can say that those first two years with baby were exceptionally hard, especially on my marriage as well… It truly does get easier and more and more beautiful…
A: Thanks for the kind word, buddy. Halifax is indeed a beautiful place for travelling and living including Wintertime, I have a lot of fun with my family so far, it is very convenient to hang out for food and explore the coast sceneries including Martinique Beach. It is relaxed and creative to live and work here. As you said, life will get easier and better. Let’s hope for the best, and time will tell.
